Decollete

While many of us are religious with our facial skincare, this TLC often stops at the chin (or if you're diligent, the neck). But taking your skincare all the way to your décolletage is crucial to keep the skin there healthy and looking it's best.

The décolletage is the area that encompasses the neck and the chest, and is often forgotten when it comes to skincare. Often even those who have converted to religious use of sunscreen (come rain or shine) are not necessarily extending application downwards to the neck and chest. Instead, there seems to be an imaginary line drawn at variable levels of the skin of the neck… above which sunscreen is applied and below which simple body moisturiser (or nothing at all) is used.

The décolletage is as susceptible to environmental aggressors as your face, perhaps even more so as the neck and chest area contains less sebaceous glands (which leads to drier skin) and less melanocytes, which are cells that naturally protect the skin from UV rays. Plus, spritzing perfume with high alcohol content on your neck and then heading out into the sunshine without SPF on that area can also lead to skin sensitivity and sun damage. Enter: pigmentation, fine lines and dry patches.

Hands
Even with a healthy body and youthful looking face, hands can give away your age. In fact, some people believe that hands are best indicator for guessing age. But many of our treatments have been designed for not just use on the face but the body too, including your hands.

Hands are faced with the extreme elements of our modern world, household chemicals and extreme temperatures cause sun damage, dryness, and chapped skin and age spots.

Anti-ageing regimes are more commonly offered for the face. It’s easy to forget your hands, but as they’re always on show no matter the season, they sometimes need attention too.
